Festive apologies

I've said it once and I will say it again, I must be the worst "blogger" to grace the internet... Anyway I've got some work to do and what is better procrastination than writing a blog?! I'm also doing a sudoku on the side. This is what happens when I get home from university, I become a 50 year old in the body of a 20 year old. I get my mum to print me out a crossword everyday, drink tea, discuss the crossword, do sudoku and around 10 o'clock decide I'm rather tired out from such a hectic day.
I'm feeling very christmasy at home, helped my mum put up the christmas lights outside our house. We did panic though because when they were turned on they began to flash. Flashing multicoloured lights would ruin our reputation on the street. Luckily these particular lights come with like 7 settings, hard to believe I know, so we quickly averted disaster. I've done the majority of my christmas shopping as well which I'm pleased as punch about, I'm rarely this organised! My mum also bought a bit of gammon the size of a small pig but nothing says christmas like the thought of copious amounts of cold meat.
I don't really have any idea what I want for christmas which is odd but I guess its a sign of getting older, I no longer wish all year for a baby born (last year as an exception) or for some kind of ipod/camera/games console. My recent track record with presents hasn't been that great... I've asked for an external hard drive, some pyjamas and one year I asked for a desk. I guess practicality is always at the forefront of my mind.
I'm also glad christmas is coming as it is the perfect excuse for drinking in the day. I've recently become increasingly worried about my drinking habits. I've begun drinking on my own, mainly wine or disaronno on the rocks. Its not pretty. I fell asleep on the sofa in front of the TV once, something I only associate with people who are 50+. I guess I'm only young once so why not? I will just keep telling myself that whilst making another drink....
