December 8th

Oh man, today I am sooooo tired. I don't even know why, I think it is because I have spent the whole afternoon sewing Lee's stocking and surprise that is what today's blog post is about!

Last night was really good and I ate some delicious garlic bread and a ham, mushroom (which I picked out) and pepperoni calzone. It was nice to sit with all the girls as well and chillax and chat! I spent today in town, had to go to the job centre and hand in my CV and got a half price bus past, so it's not all bad. Got two rejections as well today, one from a job I really wanted, the place where I felt at home so it was pretty tough to take BUT I've been cheering myself up with Christmas shopping and sewing and wrapping presents.

Here is the outcome:

1. Buy some red felt, I bought half a meter of it and it was plenty. Then cut it into two big stocking shapes, I folded it in half and then cut it because then they're exactly the same size (yaaaaay).

Lie one on top of the other and pin the heck out of it. This means you can put it on your lap and sew to your heart's content. I did prick myself a number of times with the stupid pins on my lap.

Sew around the outside of the stocking in between the pins and the edge of the fabric and turn inside out. I used a regular running stitch because I don't know too many others, and it does the job.

Cut out some white felt with triangles cut in and pin to the top of the stocking. Looking goooood. Then sew around the top, in white obviously to ensure that it doesn't look too obvious. I didn't bother sewing the bottom of the triangles because there would be stitching all over the place!

Now that it is looking pretty stockingy you can decorate it however you like! I bought some green felt and sewed Lee's name on it and a little bit of holly but you could do snowflakes or use glitter glue. By this point my eyes were quite painful and I had stabbed myself in the finger more times that I care to remember. Here is the final product:

I'm sorry for the terrible photo quality! It got dark and then my camera was having none of it! But imagine it in all it's festive glory. I've also stuffed it with presents and it made me feel super excited and festive! It was quite cheap to make as well, I bought the green and white in pre cut pieces so that I didn't have masses left over. it turned out to be just the job!
