Catch up

Hello!

I thought I would just do a cheeky catch up post, since blogging almost every day in December I've been a little bit at a loss not having something to do every day! This week has kind of been a 'life admin' catch up. I've sorted out my CV, tweaked it to be more aimed at the industry I want to enter as well as doing research on said industry (social media, if anyone is interested, or wants to hire me?) and I've popped a few notes in my filofax so I've got them all in one place. A while ago I volunteered at my local library but I've heard nothing since and I'm putting it down to the fact it is now completely volunteer run and things are bound to get lost/confused. I went in there yesterday to see what the deal was and it was all a bit wishy washy, I really should have left a contact number... So I guess I will just have to give it a couple of weeks and go back. Village life eh?

I'm currently just waiting for my dole money to come in, I obviously am searching and applying for jobs not just sitting around, contrary to what my blog makes it sound like! Then I can afford a new carmex, aussie shampoo and mascara. I hate how all my stuff seems to run out at the same time, but think of the Boots points. I spent all mine on nail varnish before Christmas and I feel semi naked without them, having only 80 something really isn't for me. I'm getting a bit anxious just sitting around inside like a crazy woman, I think my mum is sorting out for me to come in and do volunteer work at her school so fingers crossed I will be doing something soon! If not I think I might be going crazy. It isn't just the lack of job, but the lack of money which means I can't have fun days out with my friends, or buy ingredients for baking.

I have vowed to step up my job hunt and become more organised with it, like widening my search area, doing more research into companies, not just when writing a cover letter and picking up the pace. I think the lack of laptop is holding me back a bit as well, but the Library up the road does have a little computer I can pay to use, so might pop up there tomorrow! Think I will have today off as mum needs hers for work stuff and I need to knit you guys a little giveaway gift (not the only one I will be doing, don't worry, you wont receive a creepy looking knitted dolly). I think knitting is making some kind of comeback, I saw a lot of books dedicated to it on display in Waterstones. I've been testing out some patterns and have found some super cute ones, I will show you (please excuse the lack of eyes on the turtle, he isn't finished yet). And here are some cheeky photos from this week:

(sheep/dog, lovebug and turtle)

I can't apologise enough for my chipped pink nail varnish, but this bunny is the best one, being on the left side, so it was lose lose really! I'm sometime next week I will have a bear or something. I've been searching Tumblr for some good ideas so please pass them on if you have any!

What have you been up to this week?
Which is your favourite knitted character?

  5. Thanks girls! I would tell you the colour but I don't know it, it is just a pink from my nail art set, I did use Barry M silver glitter over the top though. I'm glad the knitting is getting some love, I don't feel as much of a 90 year old! xxxxx
