I'm A Graduate, Get Me Out Of Here!!

Another whiney moany post for you today. Don't say I don't treat you!

Jokes, of course I will make it hilarious! It has just dawned on me (so this is breaking news people) that I really need to get out more. I sit in my study typing away job applications with a vague hope that someone, somewhere will hire me and in the background I have the TV on because I don't want to get lonely. I have a sad sad habit of watching Homes Under the Hammer, This Morning, Bargain Hunt, Escape to the Country, Countdown, Deal Or No Deal and then The Chase. HOW SAD AM I! On the plus side, these programmes don't exactly require much brain power so they're hardly distracting (I'm on my third local application of the day). I remember the days when I was ill and had a day off school and this kind of TV had a special novelty about it NOT ANY MORE, now it is part of my routine! On the plus side I have spent my spare time improving my nail art skillz, check out my first attempt of aztec nails:

I'm stuck in a horrible bind. I'm between being overqualified for seasonal jobs, my mum says that people are put off because I might disappear as soon as something better comes along, I have been told that in an interview as well. However, for every other job out there I am severely lacking in experience! I can't afford to do a high flying internship for nothing as I would need to relocate, and to move out I need a pretty well paid job so I can start saving for a flat, or I could at least afford to pay back the bank of mum and dad. It is highly annoying, more than I can explain. The exciting thing is, if it carries on at this rate I will be here long enough to get my old summer job back, after I spent all last summer dreaming of my amazing career... BREAKING NEWS: Just got an email saying I've been invited to interview at a bank (I worked as a cashier for 2 years) for a job I accidentally applied for! Yaaaay!

On another note, I have some sad news. Sad sad news. One of my chickens died. Yep. I was there, I had to call our neighbour round (ex farmer) to kindly put her out of her misery. I am literally haunted at the moment by the image of him putting my dead chicken in a bin liner I had to hold open. I know it was for the best, she wasn't moving and I genuinely thought she had died, and she had been ill for around a month. On the plus side we should be getting some more chickens soon! My last surviving chicken, Babs, is still going strong (despite being bitten badly by a fox about 18 months ago) but she looks so lonely! I can't wait to get her some friends!

Margaret is on the left. BOOHOOOO
That is all I've really been up to. I am in charge with doing a meal plan for the week for my mumma and papa which I love doing. Am cracking open my Lorriane Pascall book I got for Christmas and mum's healthy recipes. I do need to go to the farm shop down the road because it is all well and good doing this jogging but I'm not eating properly which doesn't do anyone any favours! On that topic I am preparing a guest post for the blog Where Are My Knees? about how jogging helps my productivity and digestion so look out for that!

Lots of Love!

  2. Ugh I'm the same way with TV. I have it on all day and sometimes I don't even leave the house!!! I do have a job, but when I have a day off, it's TV all day (while i do work online like look for jobs and blog) and then dinner and then bed, usually. Even though I have a job, I need a new one because I don't make enough money to pay off my monthly student loan bills + other bills. I'm DROWNING. I haven't been able to get a new job in the 2 years I've been trying (despite having a few interviews). I can relate and I wish you THE BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

  3. Well done on the interview, I hope it goes well! I'm in the same situation, it really is a pain, places not wanting graduates saying their overqualified but not being qualified enough for the job you really want to do! x

  5. Yeah Friday the 13th, he has great timing! I think we should start some kind of anti-amazing band for people who don't like listening to cool or good music. Totally a gap in the market for my poor muscial talent x) Your Aztec nails look awesome! I was going to do an Aztec design on my nails but I'm rubbish drawing with my left hand so it'd be too fiddly for me and I'd look stupid with a nice left hand and an empty right hand. One hand designs could catch on but I doubt it! xoxo
