I Didn't Propose...

Hello guys! I am feeling terrible, I never normally get headaches but I've had one that I can't shake off. It is one of those sicky tired ones, yuck. I definitely shouldn't be looking at the computer screen!

I just thought I would let you know that I didn't propose today, this year will be mine and Lee's fourth, although not until October BUT STILL. I went to lunch with Lorna and Charlotte yesterday and we were joking about possible proposals, and what you use. A ring is a bit weird, plus I would probably just buy myself a pretty bling one, use it, then ask for it back. A watch is a nice gesture but do you get down on one knee and produce a watch? Or do you just say 'hey, how about getting married' over a nice dinner? I reckon if I was the man of the relationship I would be pretty pissed my girlfriend had taken the real party piece of the relationship, a proposal can get you out of almost any trouble. For example if I were a man and I forgot to buy the dinner, or I had lost the dog or I had crashed the car I could just whip out the proposal and all would be forgiven. To take that away from a man is pretty harsh. Not to mention the emotional blackmail I can use it for 'oh no, well you've not put a ring on it so just watch me down this wine, go out and wake you up at 2am.' Maybe engagement wouldn't change anything, or maybe I would feel aged by 10 years. All I know is that 21 is too young for me despite all my crazy dreams of Eiffel Tower proposals or candle lit dinners in the Ritz.

  1. I agree! .. The whole 29th February women proposing thing spins me out! Bizarre idea! - Don't think I would ever do it! Far too traditional!

I totally agree, I just don't think that a woman should propose, it's the man's job to get down on one knee!!

  4. I love this post! I totally agree - I think proposing should be left to the man. Plus, I think i'd be far too nervous of the embarrassment if he said no! xx
