London Lessons #3

The rules of the commuter train:

1. Don't sit on the aisle seat, it makes it a pain for others to try and get a seat.

2. Don't make eye contact with the person next you - maybe a little smile when someone new sits down, but after that, ignore, ignore, ignore.

3. Don't steal another's belongings, no matter how tempting that iPad looks next to you

4. In the morning, don't talk on your phone, it's too early for that kind of noisy shit. We all just want to have a little nap.

5. If your next door neighbour is asleep and snoring, don't disturb them, just join them (avoid snuggling though).

6. If possible get a seat and sit in the same place everyday - nothing says 'commuter' like being able to sit in the same place day in, day out.

7. If you have to stand, don't bash your book into people's head and try your hardest to balance whilst making it look effortless, like you were born to train surf.

  1. Haha, number 3&5 made me giggle.
Totally agree with number 6, when I used to get the bus to college and uni i'd get really angry if anyone was sat in 'my' seat when I got on haha.
Always admire those people who manage to juggle a book, a bag and an iPod whilst stood on a busy bus/train xx

  2. LOL! This is pretty much the same sorta rule that some NZ'ers use. Very similar. The last one made me laugh out loud, literally.

  3. Haha these are hilarious and so true! XxxX

  4. I agree with all of these!! And I always aim for the same seat though that's just because I'm a creature of habit lol!

  5. this is brilliant! I totally always try and look effortless whilst desperately clinging on for dear life standing up on a train! xoxox

  6. Hehehe, so true! But, if Ryan Gosling sleeps by you, avoid snuggling would be a big no no, no? Awesome post!

  7. Hehe oh I love this! Will deffo bear these tips in mind when I resume my 'commuting status' in september :)I hate having to stand up!!
    Love Holz oxo

  8. Hahaha I love this! Avoid eye contact and ignore are my number 1 must do's on public transport!
    Amy xo

  9. Haha all so true, definitely ignore everyone within sight! x

I love hearing from you, try and make me laugh. I dare you.
