Monday 25 June

* This week I'm going to post a diary entry every day. I really need to get back into my blog and I think this will really kick me up the arse and help me get some posts done. I have plenty of ideas but I never get around to writing them. Also when I make it big and get asked to do an autobiography, I will have this as a point of reference. *

Another Monday, another morning struggle, last weekend took it out of me and I should have napped on Sunday to avoid the gut wrenching pain of trying to get out of bed in the morning. I had a good day, admittedly I didn’t get off to a great start – my watch battery died and I thought I was running on time to find out I was 20 minutes late and subsequently missed my train to work. I got in half an hour late, which is never ideal because it makes the rest of the morning feel as if you are playing catch up.

My day at work went ok, had a healthy lunch as Lee and I are trying to have a bit of a detox after all the sweets and chocolate we’ve been eating recently. The office was a bit quiet but I made up for it by befriending (read: badgering) the work experience girl with emails of pictures and hilarious banter. Oh and I also sent emails containing pictures I drew on Outlook, which is no easy task:

Post-work I left an amazing voice mail on my friend’s answerphone concerning his degree results and saw me sing Congratulations by Cliff and ramble on for far too long. I also rang my sister for a catch up. She’s lucky I’m so patient as she insisted on just saying ‘that shit cray’ or ‘what she order, fish fillet’ to everything I said – probably best not to ask, I think they’re lyrics? It was super nice to catch up despite getting shut down by the rapping...

Got home and made a curry, went mental with a Bhuna, now I don’t like spice so this was a big deal. I tried but didn’t like. Too spicy/herby for me. Lee and I also got to dog sit for a while which was AWESOME. I played with the dog for ages, running around, throwing toys, rubbing its belly etc. For one adorable moment it lay in between us and got both our attention. I really hope one day soon I can afford some kind of pet, I’m sick of being petless!

I’ve decided I’m going to take a long weekend and go home at the end of July (as long as the bosses allow it) and I’m super excited. I just wanna stomp around the beach and have my mum cook some food for me. I do get pangs of homesickness whenever the weather is nice or when I notice the air in London is vastly different to sea air! This long weekend will be freaking awesome though, just need to concentrate on saving and not spending...

How was your Monday?

  1. Drawing Outlook pictures IS hard! I end up doing abstract painting, but still they're cool enough to do! The puppy looks so happy in that picture. It sounds like a good Monday! I spent all day at the uni looking after my lab pets. Summer by the sea sounds awesome, I wish you to get the days off you need!
    Have a good day!
