I Need to Get a Life

Last night as I was getting ready for bed whilst trying to Tweet to Rachael, Em, Charlotte and Rosie about Honey Boo Boo, I realised that I spend more time talking to people I've never met than my actual real life friends.

It's becoming weird, I refer to Charlotte as 'Charlotte's Web' to Lee and he totally gets it, Rachel is 'Rachel Cold Knees' and everyone else is 'first name - blog friend.'

I need to get a real life. Maybe Twitter is my World of Warcraft, my online Call of Duty. I've made friends with people who have heaps in common with me, but I've never met them.

Recently we've been talking a lot about Honey Boo Boo, and for all you who wish we'd shut up, or want to know what it is all about, watch it, here's the first episode:

A big thank you to Rosie for introducing this to me. Amazingly awful.

I tweet here
Leave me your Twitter handles and I'll follow you for chats and bants.
Have you ever watched Honey Boo Boo?

  1. I hadn't heard about Honey Boo Boo until a South Park episode a few weeks ago (which wasn't exactly complimentary lol). I'm so tempted to watch all of the episode you posted, though haha.

I don't think you need to get a life at all, I think that's the great thing about the internet; There's so many fantastic people on it who you wouldn't otherwise even be aware of existing! xx

    1. I've seen clips of South Park ripping on Honey Boo Boo, I love South Park! I do agree about how great the internet is for talking with so many great people xxx

  2. I've watched it, and can't really stand it... Haha. It's a bit too much for me. But I totally understand about the online life vs real life. I've been trying to balance it out a bit more lately... Whether I'm succeeding, I don't know yet. :)

  4. Love this. And I agree, I refer to people I've met in real life by their blog name! So lovely that you've found a little group of friends through all this x

  6. Oh I do the same, I definitely prefer the world of bloggers to my little world I live in. I really feel we should create a city just for bloggers, we'd have so many products <3

  7. I won't lie, I'm feeling pretty lonely at the moment as I don't have many 'real' life friends. The lovely people I've met through blogging and talk to occasionally on twitter keep the smile on my face and make me feel far more accepted than most of my 'real life' friends ever have.
And just so you know, you're one of the loveliest bloggers I've met :) <3
    Love Holly x

  8. Nothing wrong with a good episode about Honey Boo Boo. I feel so sorry for the poor father. I mean he seems crazy, but slightly less crazy than the rest of them.

  9. hahahah I totally know what you mean about the online blogger friends, I swear Jer now knows every blog-friend by their name/blog name... I think it's getting weird here too lol
I've never seen Honey Boo Boo but I keep hearing such absurd stories about it!

  13. Oh dear me. I love the subtitles even though they speak English!!! You've got me hooked - thanks!!!

I definitely chat and interact more with people online than my friends, and my friends don't really know about my blogging etc. Just different interests I guess.

  18. I have a few blogging friends that have become real life friends and it's wonderful. Blogger friends are just so different. I've been lucky enough to meet a few of my blogger friends, we're able to meet up often, call each other, and just do normal things. Though at the same time, I guess we can't isolate our other friends and family...

  19. I know exactly what you mean, I'm always saying to my other half "so and so from blogging" or "my friend who has a blog" ... you can't help it if you interact with people and end up being part of a 'community'. I moved about an hour away from most of my friends about a year ago so it's been nice to make friends through blogging and I've even made some friends where I live through blogging which is great too! It really does open you up to a whole new world! xo

  21. Haha, I'm the same. All of my good friends seem to be bloggers I've never met before. :D But it's kind of logical as these are the people who have the same interests as I do. My 'real life' friends don't care about make-up and fashion at all...

I have to admit, I've watched a few episodes of Honey Boo Boo and I've never felt more normal and smart in my life before, haha!

  22. My housemates know who all my blogger friends are, when I mention someone they're like "Is this a blogger?". Haha!
