St Paul's Cathedral

I went to St Paul's Cathedral this week. I love the building from the outside and was beyond excited by the prospect of going in. My colleague has recently been given an MBE which means he gets free entry and can take a guest, I was all over it like a rash.

The inside was incredible, we entered through the crypt and had a little tour there, then he flashed his badge and we got into the main room. The detail on the ceilings and the walls blew my mind. As a history geek I loved everything about it, my colleague was also fairly knowledgeable which was a bonus.

Then the badge got flashed and we started on the gazillion step journey to the top. I had no idea you could go outside, we briefly stopped in the whispering gallery, then we stomped up the spiral staircases and had the breathtaking views from the top. Although it was overcast you could see for miles, including the Olympic Park.

I'd recommend it for the views from the top alone. Everything seems to make sense up there, if you know what I mean?
