How To Throw A Party – The Becca Way

For NYE we decided to throw our first ever flat party. I’ve never thrown any kind of party and we’re still at that age where we have the student mentality of just getting shit faced and shouting loudly. It went rather well, people didn’t leave until 3am and only one person was sick. Here is how I pulled it off (with the help from a miracle):

Worry obsessively

❊ I was continually worried that someone would bring red wine, open it and slosh it over the walls. No one I know drinks red wine at parties but I was still concerned

❊ THERE MIGHT BE SICK EVERYWHERE

❊ My stuff will get broken//vommed on//stolen//lost in general carnage

❊ No one will have a good time

Do absolutely no preparation

❊ Buy Pringles, breadsticks and dips in a mad rush

❊ Buy beer on way back from train station

❊ Not be ready when first guest arrives and am greeted with “You’re not even ready yet!”

Leave your friends while you mingle

❊ Come in the room to see one jump on your boyfriend’s friend and twirl around after scoring a foosball goal

❊ Walk into your bathroom to discover one is being sick in and around the toilet

❊ Discover one sat outside the lift talking about how it sounds like a train

It all worked out in the end. The only casualty was our bathroom floor and a disco ball that got dropped and smashed by its owner. Thank goodness Lee has clean friends. I don't have any photos as I was too busy to take any.

Have you had any party disasters?

  7. Oh this made me chuckle. Sounds like a great party though, student-esque parties are always the best... although they're definitely better if they're somebody elses!
