Natural History Museum

Lee and I decided a trip to a museum was in order for this weekend. I initially suggested the Imperial War Museum but we settled on the Natural History Museum. Of course we've both been there before but it seemed a great way to spend the day. However, in classic form we spent far too much time eating lunch, stuffing our faces at Patty & Bun (mouthwatering, friendly staff and messy burgers) and didn't get there until about half three. I love walking around Kensington, one day I will live there. Lee also took me to see the Royal Albert Hall, I still see London as a huge mass of unexplored tourist places and standing outside landmarks makes me happy.

When we finally did make it to the Natural History Museum we were a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of people, neither of us remember it being so busy. We also went in the entrance with the dinosaur, when both of us prefer the one with the escalator up into Earth (which we later discovered, to our disappointment, was out of order!). In the end we were just a bit tired, a bit too old and a bit too lazy to walk around the whole thing. I tried to be brave and hit up the 'Creepy Crawlies' section but I saw two pictures of spiders and was out of there. Lee spent a while after trying to convince me a spider was on my back...

Anyway, all in all, a great day in Kensington and the West End topped off with an evening tea in Pret and a drink in a pub.

  1. You've made me crave a Kensington visit. Have you ever been to the V and A? It's lush! I realllllly want to go to the Natural History museum, but the crowds and queues always put me off. That burger place sounds amazing!

  7. LOVE the natural history museum. We're heading to London in a couple of weeks, planning to go to at least one museum but it may have the be the good old British as it's been a few years since my last visit. Love London, but hate escalators with a passion. The ones in the tube stations terrify the life out of me.
