The Future

[source]

My iPhone nearly broke this week, it scared the heck out of me. I’ve only had it for 3 months and my whole life flashed before my eyes. How would I be able to watch The Fixer on my commute, check my Twitter constantly and upload pictures of London to Instagram?!

This, and Charlotte’s post, got me thinking about a conversation I had with my boss had last week, we were saying how communications technology has gone far enough, it is high time we had some really cool high tech shit going on. He was sensible and went for cars that didn’t rely on petrol and curing cancer, I went for ‘it is so stupid we don’t have hoverboards yet.’

Come on scientists and geniuses, please can we have hoverboards. I remember being excited for the millennium because it meant soon the cool sci-fi future was here, computer viruses that would stop the western world, cars that could fly and computers in your eyes.

Let us all take a moment to think about the great inventions that aren’t with us yet, and all wish really hard that in 10 years time we will travel by hoverboard or hover car.

  4. I want the spinning closet from the movie Clueless, which probably exists already, but I want it.

I also want a robot to put on my make-up.

  8. 90's sci-fi did really make us think there would be hoverboards didn't it?

I remember watching Sherlock Homes in the 21st Century (LOLing thinking of that) and there was so many gadgets in that show we still don't have!

  9. I miss thinking that hoverboards were the future. I think I genuinely believed as a child that the future would hold teleportation devices and magic somewhere for me. At this rate I'm going to be 100 when they appear, and frankly my hips may fail on me hovering about all day...xx

  10. Oh I love your and your boss' different priorities. I WISH we had hoverboards, and flying cars. But you know, a cure for cancer and a car that didn't cost me £300 a month to drive would be pretty good too. xx
