Street Feast - Haggerston

Last Friday night I went with a group of friends to Street Feast which was just off Shoreditch in Haggerston. I turned up half an hour before my friends and had to stand outside the green building pictured above. When they finally arrived we had to wait in the queue for the one cash machine which was huge, and sods law the cash ran out when the last in our group wanted to get some out!

When we finally made it in we were greeted by the hubbub of Friday night excitement met with the smells of dozens of food stands including burgers, hot dogs, ribs, curry, bagels and jerk chicken. The layout was a huge square with food stalls flanking the sides and two large white gazebos down the middle full of tables and chairs, one of sides of the square was taken up with a huge bar which meant I got my beer pretty quickly - always a bonus. The picture above shows the delicious salt beef bagel I got (the smallest queue was for the bagels) which cost me £5.50 and my beer a meer £3.50 (not bad considering my foolish friends bought the "Mahoosive Mojio" for £10, which was just a pint glass filled with ice...).

ALSO, I ONLY BLOODY SAW RICHARD BACON!

Then we hopped on a bus and went to Shoreditch High Street where we went to Kick, a bar with table football and played three games which was the perfect ending to the night.

If you're in the area, I definitely recommend spending your Friday night stuffing your face with delicious food.

  4. Not gonna lie, had to google who Richard Bacon was, I'm that cool. And then I got really excited because I remembered I used to watch him on Blue Peter before all that drug scandal got him sacked and my mum had to answer my awkward questions about where he was. Happy times. (: I have no idea why, but that bagel looks so good, despite hating the contents, it's pinkness is enticing...xx

  6. Oh my god this sounds incredible!! So jealous. And when you said Richard Bacon, first instinct was Kevin Bacon, not the man who got fired from Blue Peter for taking drugs... xx
