Bec vs Pinterest: Sheldon (or Phil)

[source]
Crikey, this bad boy took me a while. I started my Sheldon (who I have named Phil) bank holiday Saturday, and only finished him yesterday thanks to a day off work. The pattern says this is a quick knit, which it probably is if you're not busy getting drunk, working or visiting family like I was this week.

You'll notice a couple of differences between my Phil and their Sheldon - theirs is done in stocking stitch and mine isn't. I'm pretty sure they never told me to do so. Also mine looks a bit bigger as I knitted on larger needles. I cheated in that I didn't stuff him with real stuffing, but used cotton wool pads instead as I had them to hand...

Overall I'm pretty pleased with my Phil, his shell is my crowning glory, I learnt like three new techniques doing that bad boy and I think my sewn eyes look a little bit cuter than theirs. He's quite big in reality, I'd say about 10 inches long. He's going to take pride of place in the flat for a while, until I get bored of him and he inevitably ends up under the sofa or some other crappy place...

  2. He's much cuter than Sheldon, and he's real turtle coloured. Sheldon looks like he'd be more at home off his little face at a rave xxx
