My July

July was a good month for me. From spending a week in Wales with my family (more to come in a later post), to meeting my dad in London for dinner and spending time with friends.

I've waited a long time to feel this settled in London, I've been convinced that urban life wasn't for me for a good 8 months now, however I feel like I'm really starting to nail this whole full time job/live in a city kind of thing. I'm no longer convinced everyone is going to mug or stab me (that was very tiring, having to be alert all the time), I'm all over getting the bus and I've finally managed to find a nice, fun, sensible friendship group who are dotted around the city.

The heat and the longer days have helped, I'm used to beach summers and this is my second one without being 5 minutes from the shore, but I'm gradually adjusting and have realised a day down the park can be just as fun - although the Mr Whippys around here are terrible.

I hope you all had a fantastic July, and August is just as great - if not better!

  1. I love the London photos you instagram, but I agree....being on guard the whole time must be exhausting! I hate that feeling of being a fish out of water in a new place....I once went to Stratford and I agree, I was convinced I was going to get stabbed!

    (Apologies to any Stratford-inhabitants)

  2. Ah your photos are amazing. I'm glad you're starting to finally feel settled, it makes things so much easier. I don't know how I would feel not living to close to the beach though, there's one about twenty minutes from me and I love having it so close by! x

  3. It took me a while to stop looking over my shoulder everywhere I went too! Still trying to find a chip shop that does decent mushy peas though

  7. Totally agree with your feeling of being on guard the whole time- it's SO stressful! That said, I think I'm actually a bit too laid back whenever I'm in London- I often forget to be as vigilant as I should be. But Mr Whippys? NO NO. Get thee some proper Devonshire/ Cornish ice cream PRONTO! xx
