JDI (Just Do It)

My dad loves a good management term, telling me to JDI is one of his favourites. If I'm being particularly wimpy he will tell me to JFDI, which I'm sure you can figure out for yourself. Well, here's to you dad - today I did JDI and Lee and I booked our first holiday together.

Despite being together for five years, Lee and I are yet to go away together. The destination? Rome. Thus fulfilling 2013's goal to visit Italy... I am beyond excited to delve into pile after pile of pizza, take 1000 photos and spend some quality time with Lee. We've put going away off for years - lack of funds, out of date passports, no time - the excuses can flow forever. Instead, we found a great deal, pressed 'book' and didn't leave time to worry. I'm hoping that this year I can be more like this, grabbing opportunities when I can and leaving the worrying behind me.

Booking a holiday also appeased my guilt of spending the one sunny day this week indoors. The rest of the day was spent playing table tennis on our tiny dining room table, eating Brie and reading my book. The rest of the weekend will see me go to a yoga class (get my money's worth from my two week trial) and visit Whole Foods with the fitness fanatic colleague I mentioned previously. I'm interested to see her in her natural habitat.

I hope you've all had great weekends, and let me know if you're a big JDIer

  12. So exciting! We are JDI-ing tonight actually and booking a holiday to Portugal for the beginning of March. It's not really the smartest time for us to go away, but I'm grabbing the moment. What is life for if you can't go on holiday? Especially when it's so cold in England!
