Weekend Scrapbook: St Paul's

It is pretty well known around these parts that I have a little thing for St Paul's Cathedral. I don't know what it is but I love the way to towers above the buildings from the South Bank, the imposing steps at the front and the way it provides a perfect juxtaposition to the modern buildings cropping up around it. Sometimes I like to imagine I have the job of "Grand Architect of London" and I would only allow buildings that looked as solid and imposing at St Paul's - none of this obsession with glass and metal.

We nipped out for a couple of hours this weekend to The City to grab a few photos but the sky was pretty grey and my hands were pretty cold. Bring on spring so we can have longer days and warmer temperatures! On the weekend The City is pretty empty giving us lots of room to roam around and grab a cup of tea. If you're in the area head up to the top of One New Change shopping centre to get great views of London (it is where I took the first photo from).

I hope you've had great weekends!

  2. These are fantastic - I too love St Paul's. I've decided that when I die I'd like some of my ashes scattered off the top of it and that way part of me will always be in my hometown.
Thanks for the tip about the top of One New Change shopping centre - I'll have to venture there at some point soon. x
