Getting to know me

The Only Place is one of my favourite blogs ever. Jo takes the most beautiful pictures which make me green with jealousy and often very hungry. She is an encyclopaedia of London's hidden gems from vegetarian pubs to Indian inspired brunches. Recently Jo tagged me in her Liebster Award post with some pretty good questions, so I jumped at the chance to answer them. Enjoy finding more out about me:

1. What is your favourite thing to do on a weekend?
God I'm such a bore when it comes to the weekend. It would probably have to be a stroll around London followed by a night in my onesie with copious amounts of tea and a huge home cooked dinner. I'm not a party animal and going out-out is an occurrence that is few and far between.

2. What would your last meal be?
A real toughie. As I'm writing this on a belly full of Nando's I'm tempted to say that. My all time favourite meal is salmon en croute, new potatoes, green beans and hollandaise sauce - I guess that would be the classy way to go.

3. If you could try one job out for the day, what would you do?
Teacher. I got accepted to do the PGCE when I was in my final year at uni but I pussied out due to cost/accommodation and other factors. I'd love to give it a go and see what I would have been like. I've done work experience at schools but never in a teaching capacity (unless you count proof reading and harsly correcting my sister's coursework).

4. If you could learn one skill and be super amazing at it, what would it be?
Probably thriftiness! I'm constantly overdrawn and hankering to spend money which isn't always helpful the week before pay day...

5. What would your super power be?
Does Bernard's Watch count? On an almost daily basis I wish I had the power to stop time so I can catch up on work/my book/blogs. It would be so useful for things like shaking off the hangover before having to leave the house.

6. If you could live in any city where would you live?
I've not travelled much so don't have much idea of cities and their individual character, but I always envision myself in some kind of Scandinavian city with a rich history and progressive social norms. I'd also crochet and knit the shit out of my house as every blanket would be used.

7. What is your happiest moment?
Toughie! I don't think I have just one. I feel like if I love one too much the others might not mean as much! Perhaps getting into university - the prospect of a future outside my tiny community and the amazing mixture of nerves and excitement at the experiences I was going to have and the friends I'd make.

8. What is your guilty food? - the one where you're too embarrassed to admit to anyone that that is really what you ate last night
KFC Boneless Banquet followed by a Krushem. Every time I'm hungover.

I'm always keen to know more about you all, so feel free to answer these if you wish.

  3. Ah, Bernard's Watch! I remember talking to someone about that programme not so long ago, they'd never even heard of it! I could do with one to fit things into my days!

  5. Ahh I've been wanting to try Nando's! We've had one in town now for at least a year and I still haven't gone to it! Boo. Hopefully I get the chance to go SOMEtime!
And I think being a teacher for a day would be cool! I volunteered as a teacher's assistant for a few months and had a lot of fun! I really liked junior/elementary school when I was a kid!

  8. I do loves me a good bit of Leibster action - nicely done.
Superb super power choices (of course Bernard's Watch counts). Never indulged in a boneless banquet but I guess a bit of dirty chicken now and again is no bad thing!

  10. I have been thinking a lot over the last couple of days, very much in aid of procrastination (exam period), about the places in the world I'd like to visit and Scandinavia features in my top 5 I think! Quality of life out there is super if I've heard correctly too xxx
