Today I got back from a week in the Lake District for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. It is one of my most favourite places to be; so calming, friendly and I can't get enough of the fresh air. I'm feeling the post-holiday blues at the moment and have been drinking tea from my new sheep mug (sheep are my favourite animals, they're so cute) and eating chocolate to try and help.
This was my first real outing for my big camera (Nikon D3200), and I'm pretty pleased with how the snaps came out - considering the weather was very grey for the majority of the week. The above are just a selection and I'll post more in the coming week.
I had the most fantastic week of walking, playing Cluedo, getting to grips with an Aga and spending a lot of time moaning about the Great British Weather. It was nice to be in an environment completely the opposite to London and take some time out to reflect and not worry about work, flat hunting, bills and all other grown up crap.
I hope you had fantastic weeks.
Lovely photographs - especially the sheep, I don't see too many of those these days in Michigan. We use to always have family holidays in the Lakes, Keswick in particular, about three times a year as I was growing up. In fact my first birthday was in Keswick, it's such a beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteThree times a year makes me so jealous! I can only hope I get to go up there more frequently than once a year! x
DeleteBecca these pictures are absolutely gorgeous! I'm particularly loving the third one with the houses in front of the mountains. So beautiful. Looks like you had a lovely time :) xx
ReplyDeleteAhh thank you so much Morgan! x
DeleteThe Lake District has to be one of England's most beautiful places!! Your photos are fabulous and I'm looking forward to seeing more! xx
ReplyDeleteGah, I'm jealous of your time away, could do with some rest right about now. Lovely pics - you've really got the hang of that camera x
ReplyDeleteIm glad everyone needs some time out from being an adult. Had a welsh cake binge yesterday while having an internal moan about how exhausting adult life is. Excited to enjoy my own tea out of a sheep mug and field photos when I return to Wales. Lush photos.
ReplyDeleteThe sheep mug has been my best buy for ages, so proud of it. A welsh cake binge sounds amazing x
DeleteYour pictures are great and the lake district seems like the perfect place to test drive a camera. I've never been there before (for shame) but some friends of mine are planning a weekend there in May - pretty excited. Totally agree with needing a break from London and adult responsibilities x
ReplyDeleteGet bloody excited - it is beautiful and the perfect anecdote to London! x
DeleteWahh I want an aga (one day!). Sounds like a blissful week away from the hustle and bustle of London xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, that sheep looks majestic! Where about in the Lakes did you stay? I live literally 30 mins away from Keswick etc and never find time to go and visit xx
ReplyDeleteOhh so jealous that you live so close! I stayed in Bowness which was so pretty x
DeleteLovely pics. No picture of the Aga? Disappointing. xx
ReplyDeleteI've got a video where it has a main role x
DeleteThese photo's a lovely, it sounds like you had a nice relaxing time!
