Seven Days, Four Pictures

Ok, this week I sucked at taking photos. I'll be the first to put my hand up and admit it. I did however turn my camera to manual mode and immediately started annoying Lee by taking photos around the flat to try to understand the settings. I still don't get it, but I'm mixing trial and error with blag, which is never a bad combination...

Thanks for all your tips on my last post, I decided to shoot in RAW format and spent way longer composing lighting - whilst trying to not scare the bees into flying off! I'm pretty darn pleased with the above, even if there are 3 bee shots and one of the vines by my window. It all marks progress.

The reason I've been so crap is that I was busier than I expected and also more hungover. I've been to work sports day, hosted at tapas night at ours and had drinks on the South Bank, of course all of these would make great photos but I'm always so scared of getting drunk and losing/smashing my camera that I keep it far, far away. I'm hoping that in the coming week I'll get more confident and whip out my camera a few more times.

Can anyone recommend any excellent photography blogs/articles/tutorials?

  1. I had forgot you had started this feature despite saying how excited I was about it last week (how has it even been a week since then). I like your bee photos and I'm well impressed that you even got close, I would have ran a mile. I can't think of any good tutorials off the top of my head, but if I find any I will send them your way!

  2. Those shots of the bee are brilliant, not only because they are snazzy pictures but also because you were very brave getting that close to a bee! x

  3. Lovely pictures Becca. Keep at it, keep practising! has some good tips on there x

  4. I really love the bee photo.

I love hearing from you, try and make me laugh. I dare you.
