Kew Gardens: The Plants

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably know that I went to Kew Gardens as part of my recent me-cation. I chose the hottest day of the year to go and spent a small fortune on keeping myself hydrated (not helped by the fact I bought a treat with each bottle of water, so I dined on cake, ice cream and fudge).

What I liked most about hanging out by myself was that I took everything at my own pace. I wasn't trying to impress anyone and I certainly wasn't worrying about others, I was just having a great time. There was one point where I think the heat got the better of me and I found myself on a bench in the woodland area of the gardens, just staring into middle distance and forgetting to think, my mind was just blank, well it was until people came along and I realised I looked a bit strange.

I love learning. I love it. I'm a long-time geek and so being able to mooch around, reading as much as I wanted and spending way too much time in Kew Palace was such a treat. Big up to my fellow nerds out there who like to read everything and are that guy holding everyone up at historical attractions as the weird snake of tourists all wait patiently behind (or over your shoulder - grrrrr).

Anyway, these pictures not only capture what a beautiful day it was on Tuesday but also just how damn gorgeous the flowers are at Kew. I did take more, but I can't seem to remember how to make my portrait pictures look good with my landscape ones...
